Notepad++ is an excellent free text editor for MS Windows environment that supports syntax highlighting and syntax folding of multiple languages. The aim of Notepad++ is to offer a slim and efficient binary with a totally customizable GUI. It has drag and drop capabilities and is great for editing source files for many programming languages, supported including user customizable.

Based on the powerful editing component Scintilla, Notepad++ is written in C++ and uses pure Win32 API and STL which ensures a higher execution speed and smaller program size.

Notepad++ is translated in many languages by native speakers. However, if a language is not already present, users are highly encouraged to translate Notepad++ into their native tongue.

Notepad++ is rleased under the GPL license.
